The Best World Breastfeeding Week Ever All About Cloth Diapers | Cloth Diaper Answers All About Cloth Diapers

This post has inspired me. When I first gave birth and was working with the lactation consultant in the hospital, she mentioned donating milk. I'd gotten emails on it. Then, I found that pumping isn't as easy as it sounds... its takes some getting used to and figuring out what works for you. I figured it out, somewhat, but had stopped thinking about donating. This story has inspired me to think about it again, and to work towards being generous with something that not every woman has to opportunity towards.

Thanks for your story, Autumn.

  1. I learned a different lesson from her story: don't be so overprotective of your children that they'd fail to thrive if something happened to you. I'm all about donating to milk banks (Huck is not drinking as much so I'm building up my supply to donate) and I would nurse a baby if the situation arose. However, I don't think her actions were the best for her child. The author acknowledges this, which I appreciate.

Just trying to stir up a discussion on your blog. :)

  2. After reading that post, it got me thinking. Currently, Samuel has been put to bed by only me. Hubby takes comp exams next week and once those are past, I want to make sure that the little boy and Daddy are comfortable with nap times, bottle feeding and bed time.

What do you mean, "I don't think her actions were the best for her child"? Autumn's little boy or the friends daughter? I think, in the end, both children got the best that could of been.

Anyhoo, it does bring up some good thoughts about donating milk and what each woman is willing to do.

  3. I was referring to her friend's daughter. I think it ended well, but her friend's over-protectiveness put her child at risk. In the post, Autumn acknowledges that her friend might be "too protective". All's well that ends well?
